How do you know when you need to have a tooth pulled? It’s probably not something you’d enjoy. In fact, it’s probably something you’d want to avoid, if possible. But there are times when tooth extraction in Las Vegas is a necessity that can’t be helped. For example, if you have an infection in your gum and the pain is unbearable. If the infection spreads to the root of the tooth and it’s so bad that a root canal won’t help, there’s probably no other option than to get that tooth out before the infection spreads. This is especially true if you’ve been on antibiotics and they’re not helping the infection go away. At that point, the only other option is probably to have the tooth pulled.
Another time when you might need a tooth pulled is when you’re looking at getting braces and you simply have too many teeth in your mouth. Sometimes you’ll have to have one or two teeth pulled just so that there is room in between your teeth to put the wires for the braces. There are even times when your permanent teeth come in and they’re just too big for your mouth. That would be another time when a tooth extraction in Las Vegas would be a smart move.
What about cavities? If you have a cavity in a tooth and it’s so big and so deep that there wouldn’t be enough tooth left to save, you may just need to have it pulled. Tooth decay that’s gone too far to fix is a reason to have a tooth pulled. Brushing and flossing regularly, at least twice a day, is one of the ways you can help avoid this situation.
Depending on your level of pain, you might be able to handle a tooth pulled with just a Novocain, which is a shot that numbs the area so you don’t feel what’s going on. If you happen to be squeamish at the dentist and would prefer to not know what’s going on at all, you can ask for sedation. Dr. Moore, at Moore Family Dentistry, uses sedation dentistry for patience’s who want to be more relaxed while having a tooth pulled. So if that would make you feel more comfortable, just be sure to have someone come with you to drive you home after your procedure.
